21 Years of Christmas Magic, One Horse at a Time!

For over 20 years, Brazos Carriage Company has been helping families create unforgettable memories, and we're thrilled to be returning to Highland Park for our 21st Christmas season! But our story began long before the Christmas lights, beautifully decorated carriages, and holiday traditions. It all started with one horse, purchased for the price of meat.

That one horse, Pudge, became the beginning of something much bigger than we could have ever imagined. What started with a single horse and a dream grew into a family-owned carriage company built around a love for horses, a passion for preserving the tradition of horse-drawn transportation, and, most importantly, a mission to give horses in need a second chance.

Today, the majority of our herd consists of rescue horses, many of whom came to us through kill pens or other difficult circumstances. Some arrived needing time, patience, and a little extra love before they could begin their next chapter. Others simply needed someone willing to see the potential they still had. And that's exactly what we strive to give them.

At Brazos, our horses aren't just part of the business. They're the reason behind it.💜Every carriage ride booked helps us continue providing feed, veterinary care, farrier services, and a safe, loving home for the horses who make these experiences possible. For the 21st year in a row, we're excited to welcome families back for another season of beautiful Christmas lights, festive carriages, and the familiar sound of hoofbeats traveling through Highland Park! Whether you've been riding with us for years or are planning your very first carriage ride, we're honored to be part of a tradition that so many families look forward to each Christmas.

Please note that our pickup locations may look a little different this year! For the 2026 Christmas season, we anticipate operating from several pickup locations throughout the Shops at Turtle Creek Village area, rather than having all of our carriages at one central location. Don't worry, though! All of our pickup locations will be within the same general vicinity, with parking available for our customers. We're simply spreading our operation across a few nearby locations to help keep everything running smoothly.

Please pay close attention to your reservation reminder email, as it will include your specific pickup location and the information you'll need for your ride. We want to make sure everyone knows exactly where to go so you can arrive, get comfortable, and enjoy your Christmas experience without any unnecessary confusion! We're still finalizing a few details, and we appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we prepare for another wonderful season.

Announcements

08/01/2026 - The Online Reservation System is open for booking rides for the 2026 Christmas Holiday Season.

A second pick-up location has been added. See the Pick-up Locations section below. If your Carriage booking ends with “CC” in the description, your pick-up location is the new location at 4208 Wycliff Ave, Dallas, TX 75219. The rides will still be the same. The locations are very close together. The second location will minimize congestion and overcrowding at busy times.

On-Site Security: Security personnel will be monitoring the pickup area at the Transwestern Building throughout the evening. Anyone found damaging property (including flowers, landscaping, or fixtures) or using the area as a restroom will be asked to leave immediately. In these cases, rides will not be refunded, and the property owners may issue fines.

All the carriages will be equipped with Bluetooth speakers this year. Bring your favorite holiday music.

Pick-up Locations

The Transwestern Building at 3811 Turtle Creek Blvd, Dallas, TX 75219

This is the location we have used for several years. There’s no access to the inside of the Transwestern Building, and no public restrooms at this location.

There will be free parking in the parking garage at the Transwestern Building. Look for the Guest Parking spaces in the parking garage. Guests may not arrive or enter the parking garage before 6:00 PM. Early entry is not permitted by the property owner.

St. Seraphim Orthodox Cathedral, 4208 Wycliff Ave, Dallas, TX 75219

This is your pick-up location if your Carriage booking ends with “CC” in the description. Parking will be available at this location.

The FAQ

We provide the ride and Christmas tunes. You are welcome to bring hot chocolate and snacks, but please be courteous and do not leave behind spills and trash for the next passengers.
We do not provide blankets. If you'd like a blanket, you will need to bring one from home.
Please arrive a few minutes before your scheduled time. The rides are 1 hour long - there is a 15-minute break between each ride for the horses to get a drink and catch a breather. We will not interrupt their break or the next scheduled ride should you choose to be tardy. Your ride will just be shortened accordingly.
While we do our best to ensure you receive the carriage you booked, unforeseeable things can happen with horses, equipment, and drivers. In rare cases, we will need to substitute a carriage other than the one you booked. You still get your ride, but we have to change which carriage you ride in. Thank you for understanding!
Weather - Canceling due to weather is up to our discretion. Rain can mean slick streets and low visibility. Safety is our number one priority. Should we feel the weather could cause dangerous street conditions for horses, clients, or drivers - we will contact you by 3 p.m. the day of your ride. You will be given the option to either reschedule your ride or receive a refund.
No refunds unless we cancel due to hazardous weather conditions- should something arise - we will be happy to reschedule your ride with 24 hours advance notice. There’s a $50 rescheduling fee.
Our prices have increased to reflect overall inflation, rising insurance costs, Highland Park taxes, and the cost of additional on-site security to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. We hope you will understand.

All rides must be scheduled through the online reservation system, links at the top of this page, and must be paid for in full in advance. Please be sure that you receive a confirmation email after booking your reservation. If you don't get an email confirming your reservation, you probably don't have one.

BRAZOS CARRIAGE TERMS AND CONDITIONS: All Highland Park Christmas Light Tours must be booked and payment made using the online reservation system. By using the online reservation system to schedule your holiday light tour, you agree to pay for this service and understand that it is a non-refundable service.
